Teresa Piacentini, Ph.D Licensed Clinical Psychologist Dr. Piacentini joined ABCD, Inc. in January of 2009, having previously provided clinical services at Seattle Children’s Hospital, Columbia University Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders, New York University Child Study Center, and New York City’s Bellevue Hospital. In her work with children, adolescents, young adults, and families, Dr. Piacentini employs cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). She provides assessment and treatment for a wide range of emotional and behavioral difficulties, including anxiety disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, mood disorders, and ADHD. Dr. Piacentini has also worked extensively with children and families dealing with chronic pain and medical illness. Dr. Piacentini has served as a clinician for National Institutes of Mental Health-funded research studies investigating the treatment of anxiety and mood disorders and has also conduced research in the area of psychological assessment. She has co-authored articles and presented her work at national conferences. Dr. Piacentini has directed workshops for clinicians on CBT and lectures on anxiety and depression for parents and professionals.
