S. Wayne Duncan, Ph.D.
Licensed Psychologist

Dr. Duncan is a child and adolescent clinical psychologist who works extensively with children and youth with ADHD, anxiety, depression, and social/emotional difficulties, including Asperger’s disorder. His extensive background in psychological assessment and social and emotional development is used to understand the difficulties children and youth are having at home and school and to develop effective approaches for addressing the areas of difficulty. Dr. Duncan works extensively with children and youth in both diagnostic assessments and in therapy and has been an outside consultant to school districts and schools (public, private, parochial), especially with respect to developing Section 504 and Independent Educational Plans (or their equivalents). Dr. Duncan will frequently include school observations and meetings in his efforts to identify and develop effective plans for meeting students’ needs. In addition, Dr. Duncan has worked extensively with children and adolescents whose families are going through or coping with the effects of divorce. However, he does not conduct forensic assessments, such as parenting evaluations, used in court proceedings.

Since fall 2009 Dr. Duncan has offered Cogmed Working Memory Training as part of his practice. Developed by Dr. Torkel Klingberg and his team at the Karolinski Institute in Sweden over the past decade, this evidence-based intervention has proven helpful to many children, youth, and adults with working memory difficulties. These working memory difficulties are often seen in individuals with ADHD/ADD and/or learning disabilities.
